The announcement just went out that UB will be launching four days of events from Monday May 14th to Thursday May 17th to mark their 100th anniversary. The events include a kick-off celebration on Monday, five cent coffee on Tuesday and Thursday, kids’ day specials on Wednesday and daily entertainment, music, give-aways and other surprises.
The first article documenting the events was published in the Toronto Star today by food editor Jennifer Bain. She did a wonderful job telling the history of the restaurant and the reason why their customers have been so loyal over the years. Here is a link to the on-line piece: http://www.thestar.com/living/food/article/1172800–united-bakers-dairy-restaurant-celebrates-100th-birthday
The videos that I produced should be placed on the UB website soon. The whole community is counting the days until the launch. It’s not just the low price of coffee but mainly in order ot show their appreciation and commitment to the Ladovsky family and their restaurant. More press coverage and tidbits will be released over the course of the next two weeks.
