Ellen Scheinberg, President
Ellen Scheinberg completed her B.A. and MA degrees in history from Queen’s University and her Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2007.
Dr. Scheinberg worked as an archivist at the National Archives of Canada from 1990 to 2000. She then spent a year working as an information management consultant for the Government of Ontario. From 2002 until 2010 she served as the Director of the Ontario Jewish Archives where she oversaw the acquisition of public and private records and artifacts and undertook a number of ambitious outreach initiatives such as oral history projects, virtual exhibitions, physical displays and historic tours. She recently was employed as the Senior Manager responsible for Outreach and Partnership Development with the Ontario Public Service.
During her two decade long career in the archival and information management field, Ellen has delivered dozens of academic presentations as well as workshops to the public on how to preserve their records. She has also made a name for herself in the areas of virtual exhibitions, social media as well as other cutting-edge web products.
